I don't seem to be able to reach you by phone or fax, have your numbers changed?

Both numbers are seasonal and on line from April to mid-August. Since the telephone and fax are located at our headquarters a volunteer retrieves the messages and faxes occasionally. Do not worry if it takes a bit of time before we reply to a message or a fax. However, someone is there to answer calls the weekend of the event.

Does one need a license to participate?

Yes, the race is sanctioned by the Quebec Federation of Cycle Sports (FQSC) and they require all racers to have a valid license. However, it is possible to purchase an event license for $20, see details below.

IMPORTANT

CANADIAN RESIDENTS
The FQSC can supply a license to Canadians not residing in Quebec. All Canadians will be covered for civil liabilities and accident insurance at the same level as a Quebec resident.

AMERICAN RESIDENTS
Residents of the United States may purchase the event license only if they possess a valid domestic license (US). The event license will cover your civil liabilties during the event but does not offer any accident insurance coverage.
It is important that each racer carry personal accident/health insurance.

RESIDENTS FROM OUTSIDE CANADA or the UNITED STATES
The FQSC cannot issue and event license for anyone not resident in Canada or the U.S. If you live outside these two countries, you must hold a valid INTERNATIONAL LICENSE to participate.

Click here to purchase an event license. Click here to print the form, then fill it out and return it to us by fax. The $20 amount is payable at race headquarters.

Can I participate in the stages of my choice?

The Championship is a stage race. Each stage must be completed within time delays in order for a racer to be allowed to start in the next one. An exception applies to the Hillclimb on Friday because it is considered a prologue. That means that a racer can miss the prologue but take the start of stage 2. However, when this happens a racer forfeits the possibility of winning the title of the North-American Champion that is the result of the cumulative time of the four stages.

May I pay on site?

Certainly, but that will prolong registration time on the day of the race. Racers who have sent in their registration form but that haven't paid aren't officialy entered on the race list. No bib is assigned to them, no racer package is prepared for them. So, they must wait in line to pay, then wait until the package is completed, etc. Since 300 racers pass through headquarters between 1 and 5 pm on race day it is preferable to have finalised the transaction before then.
